WHAT IS YOUR TAKE ON SPORTPESA??IS IT  GAMBLING? negative effects of gambling

Students in campuses all over the country are in one way or another gambling.Sportpesa being the latest and most common amongs't the students.

Despite the illegality of gambling by most religions, students hold that they don't see any sin in gambling.

Most  campus guys  are eagerly anticipating for the weekends,
students in class who ought to be alert and focusing take the advantage of the free WiFi to check and keenly analyze the potential winning teams,
at-least 300 bob is set a side for sportpesa each weekend. With the most committed  gambling daily.

It has now  become a tradition amongst campus dudes, all weekends these guys are indoors trying their lack.
Naively most of them are slowly becoming addicts, the regular checking of the team with the highest potential, and the unending debates in and out of class everytime raises suspicion.
Some students though defend themselves saying that they know how to control themselves, Eric a 3rd year student claims to know how to manage himself in this game  as he started way back in high-school.

He estimates to have used  around KSH250000in the last 5years of gambling, and having received only around KSH150000.This only inspires him to gamble more so as to recoup his lost cash.

Gamblers have high expectations of  winning millions of shillings, students are risking their school fees ranging from 10s of thousands in the hope of getting rich via sportpesa.

John a JKUAT student  says that his room mate once sold his new pair of shoes at 1000 shillings, later sold his room to gamble, but finally won 75000shilings then quite gambling.

Students claim that gambling has paid for them rent and they are not going to quit anytime soon.Once a gambler always a gambler they say.

Owen admits that gambling can be dangerous especially  the people wanting quick money, a man once took a loan of 50000 and gambled losing all the money  he hanged himself.

Despite all the vices affiliated with gambling, the number of gamblers is appreciating daily. Both ladies and gents are determined to gamble till death do them apart. But as long as they live they are still optimistic that they are going to one day win good money.

The question now remains for how long will they lose to win??
