  Did you  know  that it’s not the business of the campus administration  where their student  sleeps?  They  don’t  know and they don’t care. 
As the new semester commences ,deserted comrades in different academic  years  flock in daily, not knowing where to lay their heads for the night. Moi  university  being the biggest and  the most populous  campus in Kenya  has space inverse to the big population. For decades the administration has turned   their back on accommodation matters, forcing survival for the fittest. The suitable in this world is the  few with laden pockets.

 Typically students book hostels online, a new system that was introduced to curb corruption , previously associated with the manual booking where janitors would be bribed for rooms, the highest bidders would get the paramount rooms in the most esteemed hostels. With the new system it was hoped that fairness and justice would prevail making the hustle for rooms a bit bearable. But with corruption deep rooted in our  blood, the online platform has magnified the opportunity for the digital  fresh  key players. More, bigger cash is exchanging hands faster than ever before.
 A seasonal but rare business opportunity   for  landlords, brokers and students who are always a step ahead. Room booking  and selling. The undeniable in earnings making. Investors   swiftly  constructing rooms within the shortest period ever, landlords have taken advantage to charge rent  per semester  as opposed to the usual way of tenants paying monthly.
Talking to a caretaker at Delaware hostels at stage in   Moi university, Kiprop  says  that the demand of rental houses  is at the  peak this semester ,with three lots in session. With the  high demand the tussle is  harsh,  rentals are going for  around 5000 per  month around 20000 per semester  almost  10 times more than the normal 2500 per semester.  Money   enough   to pay school fee for  the whole academic year in certain faculties such as the school of Education.
 As most awful as the situation is, some  students  are here to make money with  no time to sympathize with  suffering  comrades. The brokers booked more than one room, using different  accounts, selling  and overcharging their fellows  who missed rooms.
Hostel J is the most despised  being the dirtiest it’s well known for the juniors, hence It’s the cheapest  fairing  around 5000-1000 per semester depending on the demand, while hostel K , L  and the houses for ladies, most loved  goes for  10000 and above, men hostels H and the ones  around Soweto neighboring  J rates the same as J . M FOR MEN   is the most prestigious going for  at least  15000 per semester.

WHAT ARE YOU DOING FOR YOUR FAMILY , PEOPLE OR COMMUNITY?

 Meet the,  Moi University Students Association(MUMSA)members  who on Thursday visited two Muslim high-schools to inspire Muslim students,  to work smart and join campuses all over the country.Lead by their imam and chair Ali said whose a      finalist pursuing Electrical and Communication Engineering in Moi Main campus. The speakers  who are students from different faculties, took this initiative  after a research showing that there  are very few Muslim students in higher institutions of learning, all over the country.
