HOW TRIBAL ARE YOU?
Students in higher institutions of learning are known to be mature and classy,Not only in Kenya, but all over the world.
Due to diversity and great exposure,it's in campus you get people you didn't know exist, interact and freely mingle, fall in love with people from different cultures and backgrounds.
Approved by the society that one comes from, they truly acknowledge that a campus student is a man or woman of high integrity, both intellectually and socially.
As a Moi university student, don't just book a room with your hood-mate back in town, or the kid-next door in your estate,as is the trend. There's need to be adventurous, trying new things out, with new people. That's how one grows.
It's disturbing and annoying to find that tribalism is at the peak in Kenyan Universities, despite the integration by Education, nobody is taking this advantage to stop negative ethnicity.
Students are still holding on to the historic injustices, bitterness that their great grandparents had amongst themselves. It isn't strange to find the Luos doubting Kikuyus with leadership positions in campus politics.
What is the relationship between the 1st president of the republic of Kenya and a Kikuyu aspirant contesting for MUSO(Moi University Students Organisation) chair??
by virtue of being kikuyu he carries the blame. While in real life they are not even related, nor has it helped them in anyway that the president is or was a Kikuyu.
Fighting tribalism in Kenya is an illusion. The intellects have completely refused to integrate politically, everyone votes their own. Unfortunately the leaders will integrate and become best of amigos when they reach their destination, and can share a bottle of spanish wine as they discuss the new projects.
Campus students neither care nor bother what manifestos you have, what policies you will implement, what is basic and most crucial for them is; are you from my tribe? do you speak my language?
This uncouth behaviour is spearheaded by national politics, what happens in the national politics is exactly what happens with the campus politics, this despicable role models mostly fund campus aspirants encouragiing this uncivilized behaviour.
It will surely take centuries to fight tribalism in Kenya, as the newborns seem to be recruited immediately after birth, worst, the only remaining lighthouse of integrity has failed amongst intellects.
tribalism an enemy to success,we should teach people that despite the region you come from we are one nation KENYA.
