An agitated, canvass COTU secretary general Francis Atwoli on Tuesday strongly condemned the Jubilee government of intimidating Non governmental organisations.
In what he termed as the government poking it's nose into matters that do not concern them, Atwoli openly told off President Kenyatta against despicable acts.
''The NGO's do not report directly to the government. The civil societies instead help compliment states in matters governance." said Atwoli.
This follows after two civil societies Africog and KHRC were deregistered by the NGO commission Board. The two are accused of operating illegally and breaching the rule of law.
With many Kenyans questioning why now? Others have vent their anger with condemnations on social media.
The accusations which are viewed as acts of shameless intimidations against the two NGOs are said to prop up after the two non governmental bodies reprehended the IEBC.
They wanted the public to access information on matters concerning the just concluded elections. They also raised concerns about the increasing death toll of demonstrators countywide.
Speaking to the press in Nairobi an angry Atwoli known for his strong stand in fighting for the workers union in Kenya, has warn the president against attempts of dictatorship terming the move as a set back to democracy.
"People died in this country others were teargassed, while i witnessed some being arrested and going to jail for us to gain our democracy. The president's move is taking us 30 years back and we will not allow that." said Atwoli.
In what he calls free advice to the head of state, Atwoli urges the president to enjoy his meat slowly.Implying that the current Kenyan generation is only eating from a ready-made hunt.
"let the president not remind us of where we coming from.Men and Women fought for this countryin order for us to get our independence and we only reaping from their sacrifice.''said Francis Atwoli.
Banging his hands on the table severally, while grinding his teeth and clenching his fist Atwoli dared the president not to provoke the masses with threats.
''the other day ,it was the media now it's NGOS tomorrow it will be workers unions.we will not accept such intimidatations in this country."
He has called upon the president to up his game and reshape his operations.
Meanwhile the NGO fight is ongoing,KHRC has promised to seek court's intervention.
Last year however, the High court had ruled in the favor of KHRC terming the deregistration unconstitutional when the NGO Commission Board chair Fazul Mohamed raised the same concerns.
